I reside in south-western Connecticut, part of the busy tri-state area surrounding New York City, one of the craziest cities in the world!
Not a city slicker at heart, I am transplanted from very rural, central Pennsylvania; a land rich in country roots and Christian values. My heritage runs deep; my faith in God, even deeper.
Fellow bumpkins may enjoy my ramblings and appreciate the challenges I face as I live and work in a world far removed from cherished country roots and Christian values.

This past weekend my daughter visited! I had a wonderful time just spending time with her. We shopped, lounged on the beach, ate out, talked and even watched a little TV (which I plugged in since I knew she was visiting!).
On Sunday afternoon, just before she headed back to PA, I solicited her assistance as I had decided that my patio table and chairs would be much more usable if I moved them from a small deck off my back door (upstairs) to a secluded little area in my front yard! Meg gladly helped with the move and the past two evenings I have enjoyed sitting outside in my newly created little 'garden spot'. Tonight I snapped a photo to share on this blog!
The table and chairs are black so they don't show up real well in the photo, but they are pictured in the background...you can see the candles lit on the table. In the foreground of this photo is a fall display that I also arranged on Sunday. The gate that is pictured is one (of two) that was at either end of a small fenced yard off the back door of my childhood home. My sister has the other gate and she uses hers in much the same fashion as I have done for this autumnal season.
Hope everyone else has their own little 'garden spot' where they can relax, retreat and refresh after a long day! May you all be blest and refreshed in the love of Christ!

I love serving God and will do that any way as He provides an opportunity. I enjoy people but enjoy my privacy and quiet times also. I'm a transplanted Pennsylvanian now working as a nanny and living in CT. I have three grown children who all reside in PA. I became a Grandma in 2008 when little Tucker was born. Thirteen months later Tucker welcomed a new brother, Evan! Life for me is all about doing all I can to share God's love and share the HOPE I've found in Christ. Every day is new and fresh and full of promise!
